You guys are all aware you can just go to http://www.filestube.com and search through a dozen hosting sites that work just as well as Megaupload, yes? I've been using similar search engines since I got b& from all the big tv/movie sharing comms. Protip: queries in the "s01e01" format tend to work best.

Filestube is great and all, but Megaupload was the most convenient and fastest hosting site for me, which is why I liked it. Most of the other ones won't let me use my download manager, so it takes forever. And I liked streaming stuff when I didn't want to download an entire file. I'd just renewed my premium account too, goodbye money :(

(idk about streaming, but fileserve and mediaupload work with my dl manager. Can't vouch for fast since I rely entirely on cafe wifi, but they seem zippy enough.)

I'm pretty sure it's the timing that's making people flip their shit over this. It happened one day after the "internet blackout" protest which made people connect it to the SOPA and PIPA issue even though, truthfully, the owners of MU actually had done some legitimately sketchy stuff. On the one hand, it's a bit unfortunate that SOPA opponents are publicly supporting men who are guilty of racketeering, but on the other at least it made some people sit up and take notice of how fragile the internet really is.
